Enclosure Woodshed — Bebop Guitar Practice
Enclosure Woodshed is a practice book for jazz guitar enclosures, with every exercise written out as tab. The exercises are numbered E1, E2, E3… in practice order, most-played material first.
Features
- Arpeggio drills on m6, m7, 6 and maj9 chords, Barry Harris 6th-diminished lines, and melodies that land on the ♭3, 6 and 9.
- 98 enclosure shapes (S1–S98), ranked by how often they turn up in bebop lines: the half-step approach from below first, then scale-above/half-below, the two chromatic sides, and so on down to octave-displaced and delayed resolutions.
- Choose the key, whether the root is on the 6th or 5th string, stay-in-position or along-the-string fingering, one- or two-octave range, and even eighths or targets on the beat.
- Filter exercises by type, chord, direction, starting tone, shape family and melody target. An Easy mode starts you on the core material.
- A single self-contained HTML page — no install, no dependencies.
Built with AI
This app was built with AI. I made it together with Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant. I brought the jazz guitar material — which shapes, chords and Barry Harris ideas to drill, and in what order. Claude wrote the code, and I directed the design, made the product decisions and tested everything in the browser.
